UK #3

I love it when my friends love Winnie. Thanks Tiff for always loving winn and not finding a hassle to come over and play with her :')

Day 4 of UK; 4th April 2014:
Found Livingston Designer Outlet on the top factory outlets list in Edinburgh, Scotland and hence decided to make a trip there. Xuan and i wanted to take a slow walk from Haymarket to Edinburgh Waverley station this time round, and we did under the rain. Found a little blue cafe just around the corner, and made up our minds to have authentic brunch there :)

^ Xuan had pancakes!

^ I had french toasts but put aside the bacon because i am not a fan of it. But the french toasts was quite good! It has crispy crust at the side and soaked with my all-time-favourite maple syrup in the middle :) Anything with maple syrup is just sex.....

Took the ScotRail to Livingston North station and then a bus to Livingston Designer Outlet. It was so foggy that day we have no idea why...

^ Fell in love with accessorizing after this trip. The little details around my neck can easily make my day hehe

^ Livingston Designer Outlet was a huge disappointment. It has not much stores in there, and that explains why xuan and i finished walking in just an hour. The shocking thing is it is ranked the top in Edinburgh....which means it's just more disappointing to know.

But this is where i got my teal Marc Jacobs watch which i mentioned in the previous post!

There was a mall right opposite Livingston Designer Outlet, and it was packed with people. We decided to walk over since it was still pretty early. Definitely was a much better place to shop in!

Headed back to Edinburgh Waverley for dinner at a thai restaurant that xuan has looked for! But along the way, i found little shops that sells vintage accessories which are so adorable. I couldn't resist and got a piece for myself :)

^ I couldn't stop laughing when i saw this on display and immediately got this adorable piece for chean!!!!! Hehehe this is an inside joke, but my fav bunch would definitely know why ;)

^ Thai food was yummy!!!

5th April 2014:
Last day in Scotland :'(
Initial plan was to visit the famous Haddington Farmers' Market at the small town Haddington, but stupid unlucky me just found out on the internet that it will only open on the last saturday of every month. So yes i was really upset, and it was one of the places i was anticipating to go when i knew i will be in Scotland.

Nevertheless we researched on what're the popular things to do in scotland and found Scottish Seabird Centre! We suddenly felt maybe it was a blessing in disguise cos we both love to see animals and have not yet fill our itinerary with such an activity. So that was the amendment to our plan!

Got up early and took a 30 mins train ride to North Berwick station.

North Berwick is a hella beautiful place. Scotland is located at the northern part of the UK. And North Berwick is the northern part of Scotland. So that is why the houses there are just right beside the beach, and the seabird centre is just right beside the sea.

I was glad that is how we spent our last day in Scotland. A day away from the crowded city and into the serenity. I love taking walks along the beach and just have my own thoughts and all the time to myself. North Berwick is definitely a perfect place for a holiday and for retirement :-)

^ This sandwich was full of cheese :( PS: i don't like cheese

^ Handsome staff hehehe

The discovery centre (likewise singapore's science centre) was quite small and boring....
So we walked out to the outdoor area and found even more beautiful angles of the sea :)

^ I love this picture x

We bought the cruise ticket where you get to step closer to wildlife seabird creatures like seagulls, gannets, puffins and many more. But the cruise was at 4pm and we have ample amount of time for another walk at the beach since the weather has changed for the better and it wasn't raining anymore.

Xuan and i had a long chat by the beach :')

^ We were still wandering what is this big pool for?! And realised it's a dog pool!!!!!!

^ Picturesque view right before my eyes :-)

On board the cruise thereafter which i was really disappointed with it. Having to pay 17 pounds each (close to SGD 35) to see nothing except thousands of seagulls taking a rest on the Bass Rock. We were still expecting to catch some cute puffins, or maybe dolphins but none of them ever showed up. And in addition, xuan experienced motion sickness after the cruise, which made her 17 pounds even more worthless.

Although the seabird centre was rather disappointing but the location made everything much more worthwhile. At least i get to enjoy the peace, the breeze and one another's company. Still glad for such a day.

Boarded our train back to the waverly station for dinner!

^ Finally saw a street artist doing portrait paintings and i desperately wanted to have one because it's under my wishlist for this trip! Because the queue was so long, we thought of going back for it after dinner. But the artist has already knocked off when we walked back.

^ Finally tried dinner at The Elephant House cafe (mentioned that J.K Rowling wrote Harry Potter here)
Xuan had beef lasagna while i had vegetable lasagna!

End of the last day in a beautiful city in a beautiful country, Edinburgh Scotland :(

More posts coming up, hang on! xx
