China grad trip #2

Was really happy when i knew how well-liked the previous post turned out to be! :')

IT'S FINALLY UP!!!!
If you readers are also my friends on Facebook, do pop in my timeline and watch the vlog we took in China!!! Bet you're going to see many different sights of us in there, uglier versions and unglam things we (maybe just me) do, and our true selves that you don't really get to see in pictures.

Watching the vid virtually took me back to our days in China, i can remember vividly how every little laughter started before it got captured in the video, and the aftermath of the silly things we do. It felt like those days again when we wake up to see each other, and end our days together again. It's pure, simple but the most heartwarming bliss. I miss it so SO much.

Day 5, 8th April 2016 - Suzhou to Shanghai

Caught our 15 mins bullet train from Suzhou to Shanghai in the early afternoon. The ride was so fast, i think it was even faster than my place to town in Singapore...

Touched down in Shanghai and met up with our airbnb host to drop our baggage!

^ Airbnb is actually an awesome startup!!! I seriously love airbnb over hotels if you are travelling with a group of friends! Just think about it, the whole house to yourselves where you can play more immensely without worrying if the room right beside you will knock on your door and complain. And besides, airbnb makes us feel more at home where we can do/eat/play/wear/say anything we want!!! :)

^ The girls getting their usual coffee fix at 星巴克 (This is how Starbucks is spelled in Chinese all over China) , so us as usual photobombing at random spots!

Took the subway to Laoximen Station and spent our afternoon at Shanghai Old Street!

Took 2 stations to Nanjing East Station and walked over to our dinner place, Lao Beijing, known to be one of the best peking duck restaurants in China with a long history!

Dinner was good though it was on a pricier end, but no harm because we considered that as a small treat for us since our meals there everyday were practically very affordable!

After a sumptuous dinner, we took a short walk to The Bund, an iconic waterfront area in Shanghai! It's a go-to destination for any tourists visiting Shanghai!

And indeed the nightime city lights were super charming!!! Although pictures at night don't look as good in daytime, but sometimes you don't need a picture to capture a beautiful memory, i had it imprinted in my mind already ;)

^ I love this picture!!

^ Creating our own BAE versions (we took super long to find the perfect arm angle ok!!!)

Major love our not-so-candid pictures below, probably my favourite pictures of us in this whole trip hehe!!!!

^ We were like "Ok pretend to laugh hysterically at something"

*fakes a super fake laughter but ended up laughing at each other's stupid faces*

^ This gives off a feel as if we weren't in China but in Europe...

Day 6, 9th April 2016 - Shanghai

A day at Shanghai Happy Valley Theme Park!

The day i realised how much of a coward i am compared to my daring friends........

They were up for ALL kinds of roller coasters, and there am i squeaking and groaning about my fear...They managed to pull me up for 1 ride, but the subsequent 3 scary rides i was just watching over their belongings and snapping pictures of their terrified faces haha!

But Nana accompanied me for the splashing water ride which the others didn't want to go because they didn't want to get wet! We were so meticulous that we ended up putting 2 ponchos over our upper body, and 1 wrapped at the bottom part of our body! STILL, we were slightly wet (actually nana was wetter, to an extent as if she didn't put on any ponchos...)

^ Kudos to their courage for hopping on this 180 degrees inverted ride where they hang you there in the space for about 3 minutes.....

Chean was telling us how everytime she visits a theme park, she will get a stuffed toy and gathers all the past toys she have in her room. And the next thing you see is everyone vigorously playing the games that you have to pay per game apart from your entrance tix, just to get a toy for chean!

She kept grinning from ear to ear after Nana and Han managed to win a monkey! Worth it when you see your dearest friend smiling so happily :')

^ Our first time trying Bing Tang Hu Lu, and it was actually quite good!!! I used to think it will be too sweet (like chocolate for me) and will cause your throat to have that tight and "gelate" feeling, but it wasn't hehe!!!

Settled for Korean cuisine nearby our place because we were worn out from a day at the theme park!

End of Day 6 in China!

-----

I'm feeling pretty sleepy right now because i have been up since 5am for work! I've changed a job, and i would touch on that in a new post after i've finished my China updates!

Meanwhile today's post will only comprise this much because my eyelids are really closing so i need a nap before dinner......

I'll see you guys in my next one xoxo!
