Sorry for being on a 2 weeks long hiatus. Previously i refused to update here even when i've the time or urge to, mainly because i felt something kicking in. Which is, i am about to complete the 18 days worth of UK posts. Felt so disheartened because while i blog, i'm relieving those beautiful places and memories, and it felt like i embarked on a second trip. I am not alone on this because i believe anyone, not just me, would suffer from a post-holiday syndrome.
But right now i am back, because i guess i can't hide from this forever isn't it?
15th April'14:
On board our bus in the morning to Brighton, the suburbs of London! Xuan previously studied in Brighton before Bristol and she have always said how beautiful that small little town is. So we decided to visit that town, and it was indeed a good day (i would say one of the best days in England).
Though it was only a small town, but wherever we walked, we can instantly feel that lively and fun vibe around us. And everyone seem to be leading a simple yet contented life by the beach. I love this feeling of being surrounded with people who are living at a place so far from the cities yet so much happier than the workaholics.
Xuan immediately brought me for some fish&chips for breakfast since she guaranteed that Brighton has the best fish&chips in the UK. It was really yummy hehe :-)
^ Fell in love with layering and accessorizing after this trip ;)
PS: That's my new comfy and distressed jeans i've been loving from Hollister hehe!!!
^ Another good day paired with a fantastic weather~
^ The fish was good in my opinion, but the chips weren't :(
^ This is known as the bathing boxes and it was an utter disappointment.
Ok hear me out first. Last year during my Melbourne trip, my cousins brought me to Brighton Beach. And though it was a replica of the real Brighton beach, the place was still so beautiful. I remembered how i felt when i stepped on feet there. The sand was so soft, the sky and the sea complement so well together, and the bathing boxes along the beach all have unique and pretty designs!!!
Xuan constantly remind me to not put my hopes too high for the authentic Brighton Beach. I nodded and while we were taking a stroll along the beach, i suddenly stopped and asked "Don't tell me we have reached" and stood there staring at the huts. Xuan: "Yup, i told you beforehand!"
Utter disappointment because not only are they so far away from the beach but also the boxes were all merely painted with bright colors, there weren't a single design or pattern found on any huts. You can easily see the difference between the imitated Brighton Beach in Melbourne, Australia and the authentic Brighton Beach in England below.
^ All these pictures were taken last year in Melbourne. Now you see the difference?
Enough of lamenting. We continued strolling down until we decided to make our way down to the pier for some churros!
^ I think xuan looks pretty in this picture!!
^ The burnt down pier many years ago
^ Playing your leisure activities by the beach.......how nice? :)
^ The churros weren't freaking good.....
Xuan brought me around the Brighton area! And there were alot of nice shopping spots which i really like! :)
PS: I love the vintage wear in England
^ We managed to catch the sunset by the beach, it was a breathtaking view arghhhhh
Bus back to London and this sums up day 15!
Will do an update of daily life happenings soon! I hope you don't have to wait too long haha
See you in my next one guys xx.
