Mel 2013

I had unintentionally gone on a 2 weeks long hiatus. Previously i couldn't reveal why i would be away for awhile, but now i can! So Hi i'm back after a good 2 weeks stay in Melbourne, a place where much of my relatives have either emigrated there for good or for further studies. So has my Brother, but he's currently in Holland for an exchange program.
My main purpose was to surprise my dearest girl, Carmen, to visit my new born niece, and of course enjoy a getaway trip. But i surprisingly had so much fun, visited so many beautiful sights, and received so much love from my cousins. That is what made this trip so memorable. So they are right, when things (my itinerary for this trip) go unplanned, it will surprisingly turned out better than you have expected/planned.

I'll start updating my Melbourne trip, probably compiling 2 days in a post. Will keep this site back on track!
So here's Day 1:

My virgin experience of sitting an airplane alone and transiting alone was fulfilled. It wasn't that scary afterall if you could understand and speak English! Right after i touched down in Melbourne, Jane came to fetch me and Ivy (she sat on another flight as i booked mine at a later date and couldn't book the same one as hers), and she brought us for PHO!!! PHO is a famous Vietnamese noodle, it may look like any ordinary noodles, but with the soup, the meat and its sauce, it's god damn delicious.

I wouldn't elaborate on the process of surprising my dearest girl and her family because it was a hilarious yet chaotic one. Basically that afternoon was spent chatting with them (while Carmen's parents are still working) in the house and lamenting on how hot the weather was. It was supposed to be the autumn season, but however the 2 days when we reached, it was still summer. But thereafter, the autumn season came, and it was mad shiok.

Had dinner at my Uncle's restaurant. This Uncle of mine is my paternal side, and Carmen's family is my maternal side. Rather confusing ah. So Uncle Tony has had that business for more than 10 years, and the furnishing and all has not changed a single bit since 6 years ago when i was there :)
After our dinner, we went to visit my cousin at her place. She has been married for 3 years, and she just gave birth to her second child. So i currently have 2 nieces! Have somehow watched Olivia (my older niece) grow up, and i will continue to. She only has 4 Aunts in fact, because my paternal side has way more males than females. Am considering to go back to Melbourne next year again, don't want to miss Olivia's 3rd birthday! :)

^ Uncle Tony set up a Chinese cuisine restaurant, and the Caucasians love them since they are able to consume western food anytime anywhere.

^ Oh how much i miss you Olivia, you have definitely grown again :)

Day 2: Woke up at 10am (7am Singapore's time). Had breakfast at Pancake Parlour. And shopped at Westfield Mall afterwards. There i bought my Dr Martens boots, the one i have wanted to get since ages but didn't have the heart to spend so much on it. But since it's cheaper in Australia, and i'm using Aussie money to purchase it hehe, i went ahead to buy it!

After a good 4 hours of shopping at Westfield, we went for dinner at a famous Vietnamese restaurant. I seemed like i am on a trip to Thailand instead of Australia hahaha. But anyway, THE DESSERT WAS BEYOND DELICIOUS. It is probably the best coconut pastry + dessert i have ever tasted. The crispy pastry together with its glutinous rice, topped with coconut ice cream and condensed milk........ultimate delicious yet sinful. Please try it if you are ever going to the central area of Melbourne!

^ Don't judge this fish, it may look as ordinary as ever, but it tastes as heavenly good as ever! Dip it with the sauce beside, it taste sooooo unique, you won't get to taste it anywhere else!

The lifestyle Australians have are rather healthy, they sleep early and wake up really early as well. All malls and shops are to close by 5pm everyday, except thursdays fridays and saturdays when they can open till 9pm. So night time there is really peaceful. I have got used to sleeping and waking up early as well. And that explains why when i came back to Singapore, my body clock wakes me up latest by 7.45am.

This is a summary of my first 2 days! More to come!

Little things prove big significance. The moment i saw my name on your contact list has changed, my heart shattered. I wasn't thinking too much, i wasn't sensitive, but you honestly have slowly retreat from me.

The weather here in Singapore is soooo hot, i am literally sweating wherever i go :( I feel so sticky, and it irks me cos a lady of cos has to smell good and look good. I need to get used to this weather soon. Am going to take a shower! Goodbye! :)
